Evadine Duncan

Evadine Duncan, 87, of Eldorado went home to be with her Heavenly Father at 3:58 PM Thursday, September 22, 2016 with Alva, Rosalee, Alma and Bob holding her hands. Evadine was born in Boydsville, Arkansas December 18, 1928. She was the third child of the late Andrew and Carrie Gibbs Duncan.

Evadine leaves behind her siblings, Everett Duncan of Harrisburg, Rosalee Davis of Shawneetown, Alva (Annie) Duncan of Anna and Alma (Bob) Young of Eldorado. Sisters in law, Dorothy Duncan, Pat Duncan and Paula Duncan and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins including a special cousin Chloe Dowdy. She also leaves behind her neighbors who she had a special bond with and special friends Marion Andrews and Kathy McClusky. Among her precious nephews she claimed Alma's sons Troy (Terri) Young and Jason (Jennifer) Young as more than her nephews, they were her grandbabies. Troy's sons, Hunter and Toby were her special babies. She was a big part of their lives and they to her.

Waiting in Heaven to greet her are Mom and Dad and her siblings, Delphine Cravens, Emogene Stricklin, Noble Duncan (who was her buddy), Billy Duncan and 2 infant brothers.

Evadine touched every life she came into contact with. She had the kindest of hearts and a sweet spirit. Many will miss her. She delighted in gardening, cooking and sharing with her neighbors.

Evadine's celebration of life will be 1:00 PM Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Spring Valley Social Brethren Church South of Harrisburg with the Rev. Mark Finnie officiating and special memories shared from Skip Duncan and Hunter Young. Her final resting place will be next to her sister in Spring Valley Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 AM to funeral hour at 1:00 PM. The J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg is in charge of arrangements.
