Reba Joan Bartimus

HARRISBURG -- Reba Joan Bartimus, 84, passed away Friday, Dec. 2, 2016, in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

She was born Dec. 6, 1931, in Mattoon to Lawrence and Ruby Wooldridge Bosley. She married Robert Lee Bartimus in 1950 in Mattoon, and he preceded her in death May 7, 1997.

Joan was a member of Dorrisville Baptist Church.

She enjoyed volunteering at the 4'Cs food pantry and attending Sunday school and church as her health would allow.

Joan spent all of her life loving, supporting and caring for her children.

Survivors include three sons, Bill Bartimus of Columbia, Missouri, Darrell and Debbie Bartimus of Watson and Brian and Monica of Harrisburg; daughter, Teresa and Mickey Pankey of Eldorado; three brothers, Don Bosley of St. Charles, Missouri, Ed Bosley of Decatur and Dave Bosley of Toledo; two sisters, Emilie Rhine of Garland, Texas, and Mary Thornton of Neoga; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, in J. M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg with the Rev. Dewayne Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
