Joann E. Wisniewski, formerly of Du Bois
<p dir="LTR" align="JUSTIFY">Joann E. Wisniewski, 84, of Canton passed away at 5:28 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at Graham Hospital.
<p dir="LTR" align="JUSTIFY">She was born on June 14, 1932, in Portageville, N.Y., to Lawrence and Martha (Gautreau) Waldman. She married Tadeusz Wisniewski Sept. 17, 1949. He preceded her in death.
<p dir="LTR" align="JUSTIFY">Also preceding her in death were her parents and one great-grandson.
<p dir="LTR" align="JUSTIFY">Surviving are three children, Larry (Bobbie Wishnevski) Wisniewski of Valpariso, Ind., Judy (John) Dudek of Canton, and Mark (Teresa) Wisniewski of Vallejo, Calif.; nine grandsons, Cory, Justin, Keith, Shannon, John, Joe, Nicholas, Danny and Jared; and 16 great-grandchildren.
<p dir="LTR" align="JUSTIFY">Joann was a long time dairy farmer and later a rural postal carrier. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Du Bois, the Catholic Daughters of America, the Newman Center, the city council and the American Legion Auxiliary. Joann loved traveling, friends, gambling and fishing. She was a very generous person.
Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2017, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Du Bois, where a visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Father Oliver Nwachukwu will officiate. Burial will follow the services at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Cemetery in Du Bois. Cremation rites will be accorded through Sedgwick Funeral Homes and Crematory in Canton.
