Dolores Giger

HARRISBURG -- Dolores J. Giger, 81, passed away Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, surrounded by her family.

She was born Feb. 25, 1935, in Harrisburg to Sibyl and Joseph “Wavey” Speaks.

Dolores graduated from Harrisburg High School Class of 1953. She enjoyed traveling, reading and painting, as well as being active in her community.

As an avid Chicago Cubs fan, she rejoiced at the 2016 victory! Go Cubs Go! Dolores was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who loved spending time with her family.

She had an amazing sense of humor and touched the lives of many. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory are her mother, Sibyl Gibbons; daughter, Misti (the late David) Labs; two brothers, Gregory (Nancy) Speaks and Joe Don Speaks; stepchildren, Gene (Helen) Giger, Pamela (Ed) Kloeck and Janine (Robert) Anderson; grandchildren, Angela (Keith) Loudenber, David (Carolyn) Miller, Brandon Miller, Colin Chiluski and Katherine Chiluski; stepgrandchildren, Angela Nevious, Steve Betourney, Toni (Mark) Tucker, Terri Magden and Jim (Marsha) Anderson; and great-grandchildren, Taylor, Ethan, Logan and Allison; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Giger; father, Joseph Speaks; daughter, Tacye Chiluski; and granddaughter, Sarah Rose.

Graveside services will be at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, in Digby Cemetery, just north of Dale, with the Rev. David Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.
