Loren L. Morris

ELDORADO -- Loren L. Morris, 79, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, in Herrin Hospital.

Loren was born June 14, 1937, in Carmi to Clarence and Emma (Maurer) Morris, who preceded him in death. He married the former Shirley Orr, who also preceded him in death.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

Loren worked as a painting contractor until his retirement. He was a member of Star Church.

Survivors include his son, Kevin (Carla) Morris of Georgia; two daughters, Cheryl (Dwayne) Stanberry of Wisconsin and Kim (Bryan) Brewer of Oregon, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Wes (Traci) Morris, Andrea (Matt) Morris, Justin Hilligoss, Travis Hilligoss, Ashley (Devin) Heyob, Bryce (Marie) Brewer and Brandon Brewer; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by an infant sister.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, in Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. Aaron Phelps officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Lindale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at the funeral home.
