Brandon Michael Head

SHAWNEETOWN -- Brandon Michael Head, 37, passed away after an extended illness on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, in Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born Sept. 11, 1979, in Harrisburg, the son of Robert Michael and Phyllis Ann (Hopson) Head. He married Brandy Gail Johnson on Aug. 30, 2003.

Brandon was a heavy equipment operator for Morris Excavating in Galatia.

Survivors include his wife, Brandy Head of Shawneetown; parents, Mike and Phyllis Head of Shawneetown; sister, Jamie Stricklin of Shawneetown; grandparents, James and Betty Jo Head of Shawneetown; special family friend, Dennis Randolph of Delwood; and four-legged friend, Little Maggie MooMoo.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Eva “Cornbread” Berry and Everett Hopson; and beloved pet, Cozmo.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, in Vickery Funeral Chapel in Shawneetown with the Rev. Michael Rushing officiating. Burial will be in Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
