Norma Thompson

GALATIA -- Norma Thompson, 89, passed away at 7:27 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, in Harrisburg Medical Center.

She was born May 27, 1927, in Saline County to Oval and Marie (Medlin) Hankins. She married Jack Thompson on Feb. 15, 1965, in Peoria, and he preceded her in death on April 14, 1998.

Norma was a cook at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Galatia and a beautician for 28 years in Peoria.

Survivors include three brothers, Bud Hankins, Charlie Hankins and Dayton Hankins; and sister, June Hall.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; stepson, Jack Thompson Jr.; two brothers, Oval Lee Hankins and Wayne Hankins; and sister, Maxine Ward.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, in Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia with the Rev. Alan Porter officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
