Prep Girls Hoops: Harrisburg blows by Gallatin County

Harrisburg shook off the effects of a bad game against Herrin Wednesday and responded with a 70-39 trouncing of Gallatin County Thursday.

The Bulldogs put three players in double figures as Kelsey Hobbs had a team-high 20 points, while Lotte Miller poured in 17 points and Matty Hawkins tacked on 12 points.

Hannah Bartok and Karysn Davis each finished with five points a piece, while Toni Crisp put in four points and Brooke Meylor had three points. Madeline Rider and Jenny Buchanan each finished with two points a piece.

Harrisburg shot 27-for-68 from the field for 39 percent and were 5-of-17 from beyond the arc and went 11-for-19 at the free throw line.

The Bulldogs held Gallatin County to 30 percent shooting from the field as the Hawks went 15-for-50 and were 6-of-22 from the free throw line.

Hailey Chubb had a game-high 22 points for the Hawks, while Morgan Roderick tacked on 10 points to finish in double figures for Gallatin County.

Harley Turner finished with five points and Kaylee McGuire had two points.

The Bulldogs improve to 14-5 on the year with the win and remain 3-2 in SIRR Ohio play.

Harrisburg will play host to Meridian Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Harrisburg Middle School Gymnasium.
