Prep Wrestling: Harrisburg finishes middle of the pack at Litchfield

The Harrisburg High School wrestling team finished in the middle of the pack at the Rich Lovellette Panther Tournament over the weekend.

The Bulldogs took home a second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth place finish at Litchfield to finish eighth out of 17 teams.

Lena Winslow was the top finisher with 221.5 points, while Murphysboro was second with 212.5.

Vandalia (159.5) and Litchfield (142.5) rounded out the top five.

Orion (142.5), Roxana (106), Harrisburg (88), Carlinville (66) and West Frankfort (62) finished in the top 10.

Lucian Hicks (182) fell to Murphysboro's Dalton Craig in the championship for Harrisburg's lone second place finish.

Kyle Cavender (120) took home third place, beating Auburn's Matt Heren by pinfall, while Kody Cavender (126) was sixth, falling to Austin Lopez (Auburn).

Cody Rightnowar (145) grabbed a fifth place finish after beating Vandalia's Cody Phillips.

The lone fourth place finish went to Chase McDaniel (285) who lost to Roxana's Owen Robinson.
