JUCO Softball: Falcons take split wiåth Frontier

The Southeastern Illinois College softball team split with Frontier College Wednesday night, winning 8-1 and suffering a 6-1 loss.

In the loss, Marion's Harleigh Krumrey took the loss to fall to 5-3 on the season.

She went seven innings, allowing six runs (four earned) on 10 hits with two strikeouts and one walk.

At the plate, Krumrey had the lone RBI, going 2-for-4, while Maranda Chance (Vienna), Lundsee Adams (Marion), Mikayla Thompson (Union County, Ky.) and Josie Garduno (Massac County) all had one hit.

Eldorado's Michaela Laswell improved to 8-7 with the win in the circle. She went all seven innings, allowing one run on four hits with 10 strikeouts and just one walk.

Thompson hit her third home run of the season for the Falcons as she went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored.

Chance also had three hits, scoring two runs, while Dakota Quertermous and Adams both had two hits. Adams scored a run and drove in a run.

Emily Reed (Galatia), Elizabeth Sloan (Galatia), Krumrey and Garduno all had one hit.

SIC is now 17-14 overall and 8-10 in conference play. The Falcons are set to host No. 9 in the nation Lakeland Saturday to close out the week.
