Prep Softball: SI Select All-Star Game Thursday at Rent One

The Southern Illinois Umpire Association, Southern Illinois ASA and cooperating coaches have put together two Southern Region Select Teams to play in the first annual SI Select All-Star Game Thursday, which will be held at Rent One Park in Marion, starting at 7 p.m.

Each team will have 18 players playing one 9-inning game.

There will also be a scholarship event in the fourth inning where seniors, who are furthering their education, will be given a ball and from a designated spot in centerfield, the girls will throw the ball to a bucket at home plate. Whoever gets either in the bucket or closest to the bucket, will be awarded the scholarship made possible by Pepsi MidAmerica.

The game itself will feature four players from the Saline County area in Harrisburg's Karsyn Davis and McKenzie Sullivan, Carrier Mills-Stonefort's Si Si Figg and Caitlyn Stafford from Eldorado.
