Prep Baseball: Bulldogs fare well for Team Southern Illinois

A handful of Harrisburg baseball players suited up for Team Southern Illinois over the weekend and competed in Chicago under the direction of their own head coach Jay Thompson.

Thompson, whose team ranges from ballplayers south of Springfield, was joined by Jordan Gould, Austin Henfer, Cooper Patterson and Dalton Lambert.

Gould, according to Thompson, had one hit, several balls hit hard and made several good player. Hefner had a home run, to go along with a double and also made a couple of nice plays in the field, while Lambert pitched a scoreless inning over two days and hit 83 on the gun. Patterson sat on 83 and 84 on the radar gun, while striking out three over two innings.
