American Legion: Posting another win

Post 167 kept their hot streak in tact with another win, knocking off Marion 10-3 Wednesday night at Gibbs Field.

Harrisburg's Jordan Gould picked up the win on the mound, working six solid innings, allowing three hits while striking out four.

Austin Hefner came on in relief and pitched a scoreless seventh.

Hefner also help pace Harrisburg at the plate as he and Kent Cletcher each had three hits.

In all, Post 167 (11-5, 7-3) had 14 hits on the night, including a third inning home run by Noah Vallette, who finished with two hits on the day. Britton Riden and Bryce Emery also had a pair of hits.

The Eldorado duo of Adam Ninness and Josh Pilkington each had a hit for Post 167.

"We played really well getting the 14 hits and we made several good plays on defense which helped us to win the game," Harrisburg head coach Doug Emery said.

Post 167 will host Shawneetown tonight (Friday) in a double header that is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. Saturday's contest at Paducah has been cancelled, as has, Sunday's game with Albion.

Harrisburg will host Paducah next Wednesday in our final home game before the District Tournament starts next Saturday at Carmi.
