Prep Girls Hoops: A-J, WF pick up wins at Harrisburg; Gallatin Co. gets by Goreville

At Tuesday night's Harrisburg Invitational, Anna-Jonesboro knocked off Eldorado 63-28, while West Frankfort edged Carmi-White County 58-56.

The Eagles are now 1-1 on the season after their loss to A-J, where no Eldorado player scored in double figures.

Rachel Stafford and Takiya Britton each had five points for EHS, while Paige Munds and Derian Corn finished with four points. Jade Hise, Trinity Goolsby, Bayleigh Barton and Mikayla Rash all had two points and Olivia Parker tossed in a free throw.

Eldorado returns to action at the Harrisburg Invitational tonight (Friday) when they take on West Frankfort at 6 p.m. and then will play Harrisburg in Saturday night's finale at 7:30 p.m.

Gallatin County 70, Goreville 67

Gallatin County improved to 4-3 on the season with a three-point, 70-67 win at Goreville Tuesday night.

Hailey Chubb scored a season-high 39 points and was joined in double figures by Caitlin Lynch's 14 points.

Morgan Roderick netted seven points in the win for the Hawks, while Audrey Jackson scored six points. Harlie Turner and Kaylee McGuire each had two points in the win.

Pinckneyville 50, Galatia 27

Kennedy Harris had a team-high 11 points for Galatia in a 50-27 loss to Pinckneyville at the Hamilton County Tournament Tuesday night.

Mallory Mays added eight points, while Kassidy Rizor and Madison Murphy each finished with four points.
