Prep Hoops: Eldorado, CMSF pick up wins at Vienna Classic; Edwards County's size too much for Hawks at Grayville Tournament

Eldorado put four players in double figures and had little problem with Galatia Tuesday night at the Vienna Classic, beating the country rival 71-27.

EHS head coach Josh Bradley said it was another strong night up and down his lineup as the Eagles are now 2-0 and noted that while he did have four guys in double figures, he had two more that were less than three points away from having 10 points. To boot, the Eagles only had six turnovers on the night.

"Ethan (Partridge) came out again and really set the tone for us early. Kale Oglesby has settled into the point guard position for us and it has really helped us offensively."

Partridge, who last year was named to the Vienna Classic All-Tournament Team, maybe on his way to MVP consideration with a 16-point performance to lead the charge for the Eagles.

Jacob Traxler had the lone double-double for EHS with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while John Meredith and Braden Attebury each had 11 points.

Ray May added eight points for Eldorado, while Oglesby netted seven points. Guys Scott and Connot Watt each had two points, while Ben Byrd had a free throw in the win.

For Galatia, they were led by Devyn Verbeck's 10 points, while Luke Lawrence chipped in with seven points. Shad Mattingly finished with four points, while three players, Kody Matthews, Garrett Beers and Braxton Lane all had two points for the Bearcats.

Carrier Mills 56, Cobden 43

Carrier Mills-Stonefort moved to 2-0 at the Vienna Classic with a 56-43 win over Cobden at the first game of the Vienna Classic Tuesday night.

The Wildcats put three players in double figures as Justice Hill and Austin Gibbs each shared scoring honors with 14 points. Dylan Schwartz scored 12 points, while Brody Walker netted nine points and Will Austin had seven points.

Tonight (Friday) at the Vienna Classic, Eldorado meets Carrier Mills-Stonefort at 5:30 p.m., followed by Galatia vs. Vienna at 8:30 p.m. On Saturday, Galatia will play Cobden at 5:30 p.m., followed by Carrier Mills and Centry at 7 and then Eldorado vs. Vienna at 8:30 p.m.

Edwards County 68, Gallatin County 50

At the Grayville Thanksgiving Tournament, Seth Ramsey had 16 points and joined Luis Rubio in double figures with 13 as Gallatin County lost 50-68 to Edwards County.

Aaron Walters scored seven points for the Hawks, while Robbie Prince chipped in with six points. Audie Goebel, Garrett Rushing, Bryan Wargel and Dawson Hish all had two points.
