Prep Bowling: Middle Of The Pack

The Harrisburg High School boys' bowling team finished fourth out of six teams, while the Bulldog girls were third at the Herrin Invite Saturday.

Brenden Mitchell bowled a 1062 for the boys and Zach Hunt added a 1054. On the girls' side, Claire McDermott bowled a 1053.

Harrisburg head coach Doug Cottom said certain aspects of his teams game are lacking at the moment.

"It was a very disappointing day at Herrin on both sides. We really came up short, as you can see from the scores. We were just bad all day. I do not think there were very many positives to come out of this outing and in addition to that, Herrin is where we will have both the boys and girls' regional in late January, so we need to figure things out and do so quickly."

Harrisburg returns to action Monday at Steeleville and then travel to the Alton Holiday Tournament Thursday.
