GEC Roundup: Gallatin Co., CMSF get weekend wins

Seth Ramsey is having himself a record setting season and the Gallatin County senior added to his collection Friday night.

The Hawk guard dropped 48 points on Pope County, erasing the former school record of 45 set by Trent Wargel.

Gallatin County picked up a pair of wins over the weekend, knocking off Pope County 98-69 Friday night and then posted a come-from-behind 52-40 win over Webber Township, both victories coming on the road.

The Hawks are now 10-5 overall and 5-0 in Greater Egyptian Conference play and will play host to Wayne City Tuesday night in a Class 1A battle of two of southern Illinois’ best.

In the win over Pope County, Luis Rubio (12) and Aaron Walters (11) both finished in double figures and at Webber Township, Audie Goebel had a game-high 25 points to go along with Ramsey’s 15 points.

Carrier Mills-Stonefort 58,

Cobden 39

Carrier Mills-Stonefort put four players in double figures as they took care of Cobden at home Saturday night.

Justin Austin had a game-high 15 points for the Wildcats, while Brody Walker tacked on 13. Justice Hills and Will Gibbs both had 10 points for CMSF in their win.

The Wildcats (5-10, 2-3) will play host to Crab Orchard Tuesday night and then travel to Thompsonville Friday night.

Galatia 77, Agape Christian 49

Galatia knocked off Agape Christian 77-49 Friday night at home.
