New McDonald's owner to build on success
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[On Oct. 12 John and Mary Moreland and their daughter Stephanie Bishop took over as owners of Harrisburg McDonald's.
The Morelands don't anticipate major changes. All but three employees are remaining and the ones who left did so because of school or other job opportunities.
One change is the uniforms, which are now black and gray.
The Moreland family bought the two Marion McDonald's from Joe Dullinger, who also owned the Harrisburg McDonald's prior to his widow, Debbie.
"Debbie wanted to retire. She came to us and asked if we wanted it. We said, 'Sure,'" John Moreland said.
Moreland has been in the McDonald's business for 44 years and in addition to the Harrisburg and Marion restaurants owns chains in West Frankfort, West City, Marion, McLeansboro, Herrin, Johnston City and Carterville.
Moreland plans to keep the community involvement that Dullinger established. The restaurant sponsors a magazine subscription program through the high school, give donations to organizations and make available grants through McDonald's house charities.
