The church's 8th Annual Back to School Community Outreach is 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the church at 1300 S. Feazel St.
Last year the church gave out over 400 bags of supplies based on lists provided by Harrisburg schools. The event is open to any family needing help with buying back to school items.
The event also supplies a meal, shoes, socks, underwear and free haircuts by cosmetologists.
"We fed 750 last year and we're expecting several more," Judy Taylor said.
Workers will measure the childrens' feet, check addresses and invite families to attend church if they have no home church.
Last year Taylor handed out 160 name tags to the volunteers until she ran out. She said it takes 160 to 175 workers to make the event happen smoothly.
