Obituary: Mary Elizabeth Young

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mary Elizabeth Young, 94, Eldorado, went to be with her Lord on noon Friday, May 18, 2012, at Carbondale Memorial Hospital.

Mary was born in Eldorado on May 6, 1918, daughter of the late George E. and Mollie (Bishop) Whitlock. She was a retired member of the Regional Office of Superintendents after 29 years of work. She was a member of Raleigh First Baptist Church.

Mary is survived by a son, David Young of Mount Vernon; two daughters, Sharon (Marshel) Galleher of Eldorado and Lynne Beggs of Murphysboro; grandchildren, Lisa (Joey) Hinant of Harrisburg, Tammy (Bern) Carter of Galatia, Jimmie (Melanie) Galleher of Newburgh, Ind., Samantha Young of Harrisburg, Nathan (Rainell) Young of Evansville, Ind., Heather (Aaron) Palmateer of Homestead, Fla., and Tiffany (Jeremy) Kennon of Jackson, Mo.; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, Hal Elbert and Clifford; a sister, Alice; and a son, Jimmie Lyndon.

Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia with visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at the funeral home. The Rev. Keith Ital will officiate with burial in the Raleigh Masonic Cemetery in Raleigh.
