Looking to kick the sour taste from their mouth after Friday's first loss of the season, Harrisburg turned to Fairfield Monday in the first round of the Carmi-White and got just what they needed.

Fueled by a barrage of 3-pointers, including three in the first quarter by Ryne Roper, who finished with 12 points, the Bulldogs got back on the winning track with a 83-59 victory.

Capel Henshaw led all scorers with 22 points, 13 of which came in the first half and Tyler Smithpeters scored 13, while Dakota Upchurch added 11 for Harrisburg who improved to 17-1 on the season.

Despite the opening season loss, Harrisburg head coach Randy Smithpeters said there were many more positives than negatives that came out of the trip.

"Our trip to Tennessee was a good trip. We would have liked to have gotten a win, but it showed us a lot of things that we can get better at. We went down there and played well and played hard, we just didn't win.

"I don't think there were any negatives that came out of the trip, in fact, I think there were many more positives just because it was the type of game we needed to push us to point out some of our negatives so that we can get better."

Furthermore, Smithpeters agreed Monday was a good game to get back on track with.

"I really thought we could have defended better than we did, but it's so hard to come out against a team that you have played earlier and being the type of game that it was, sometimes it's just terribly difficult to do. I thought we did well offensively, we put a lot of points on the board by pushing the ball."
