Keck's Exclusives First Look: A Shark Takes on a Diva
Popular Shark Tank panelist Barbara Corcoran can invest in and reject companies with ease, but how does she fare in her first acting role, playing herself on the July 7 episode of Lifetime's Drop Dead Diva ? "I spent five to six hours memorizing my script," she says, "and I still flubbed my lines."
Corcoran meets Stacy (April Bowlby) at a women's business conference and, after touring Stacy's "pake" (half pie/half cake) factory, puts in a $75 million bid to buy the business. "When I get a taste of her magnificent pake, I just have to have it," Corcoran says. "I'm playing a real mean version of myself. I'm sure I'm going to come off as a total bitch."
Ever the shark, Corcoran is trying to turn the fictional Pakery into a real biz. "I sent an email to Daisy Cakes [an online bakery Corcoran invested in on Shark Tank] to see if we can make pakes," says Corcoran, who warns Diva producers not to try to take even a small bite out of her potential profits. "There's no chance in hell that I'd give them a dime!"
