Cougar Town's Busy Philipps Welcomes Second Daughter

The fireworks came a little early for Cougar Town star Busy Philipps, who welcomed her second daughter on July 2.

Philipps, 34, announced the arrival of her new bundle of joy Wednesday on Twitter when she posted a picture of herself holding her newborn with the caption "So this happened..." Philipps' rep did not reveal the child's name, but said the baby weighed in at 8.5 pounds. "Everyone is healthy and happy," her rep added.

Social media has played a big role throughout Philipps' pregnancy. She announced she was expecting in December when she shared a picture of her positive pregnancy test on Twitter with the very same caption: "So this happened..." More recently, she posted one of her sonograms on Instagram.

This is the second child for the Dawson's Creek alum and her husband, The Vow screenwriter Marc Silverstein, who are also parents to 4-year-old daughter Birdie.

Aside from playing the outspoken Laurie on Cougar Town, Philipps also recently guest-starred on Arrested Development and will serve as a guest judge on the new season of Top Chef Masters.
