OBITUARY: Donald Gene Thomas Jr.

Donald Gene Thomas Jr., age 54, of Harrisburg, passed away Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, at his residence.

He was born April 28, 1959, in Chicago to Donald Gene and Beverly (Bristow) Thomas Sr. Donald was a long time employee of the city of Harrisburg with the street and ally department and a retired truck driver. He was a Baptist by faith.

Survivors include his parents: Donald and Beverly Thomas Sr. of Harrisburg; a daughter: Ashley Thomas of Harrisburg; a special friend: Tammy Hurst and her son Dakota of Harrisburg; two sisters: Mary Combs of Harrisburg; and Ginny and husband Mark Adams of Harrisburg; along with several aunts; uncles; cousins; nieces; and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Dewayne Taylor will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Donations may be made to the family to offset funeral expenses.
