OBITUARY: Ernestine Hale

Ernestine Hale, 85, of Harrisburg, passed away at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at her residence.

She was born on Oct. 31, 1928, in Norris City, to the late Luke and Clara Ethel (Weaver) Bryant. On Oct. 20, 1967, she married Oral Hale and he preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 2013. Ernestine worked in the business office of Harrisburg Medical Center for many years before her retirement.

Surviving family members include a sister: Kathleen Gill of Galatia.

Ernestine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers: Junior and Hal Bryant and three sisters: Lillian Hughes, Reba Renshaw and Beulah Karmicle.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, at Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg. Those wishing to attend are asked to gather at the cemetery. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Carmi Children's Home. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery. Reed Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
