OBITUARY: James A. "jim" Suver
James A. "Jim" Suver, 87 of Harrisburg, passed away 8:27 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at Harrisburg Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 15, 1926, in Harrisburg, the son of Oral and Laura Hatcher Suver. He married Sarah Conover on Nov. 23, 1953, and she survives. Jim worked for Skaggs Electric before retiring. He was a member of the Harrisburg First United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir, was a member of United Methodist men and taught the Kupples Klass. He was a charter member of the Harrisburg Barbershoppers, IBEW local 702, The Oddfellows and Rebekah's Lodge and the George Hart Post 167 American Legion.
Jim is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Sarah; two daughters, Debra Suver and Mary Renee Suver, all of Harrisburg; one brother, William and Anita Suver of Waterford, Mich.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Suver.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church in Harrisburg with the Rev. Christine Cunningham officiating. Burial with military rites by the Harrisburg and Carrier Mills American Legion will follow at the Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg.
