Larry Travis Hamilton

Larry Travis Hamilton, 34, of Du Quoin, passed away at 3:54 p.m. Monday, Sept. 1, 2014 at his residence.

Travis had been a carpenter and had also worked at the Galatia Coal Mine for two years. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was born June 9, 1980 at Du Quoin, Ill., the son of Larry S. and Renetta Rose (Lambert) Hamilton.

He is survived by his mother and step father - Renetta and Babe Hill of Du Quoin, his father and step mother - Larry and Judi Hamilton of Vergennes, two children - Dayton Hamilton of Du Quoin and Layla Hamilton of Harrisburg, Ill., three sisters - Chalene Hale and husband Josh of Du Quoin, Tennille Wanner and husband Kevin of Spanish Fork, Utah and Heather Harsy and husband Darren of Du Quoin, his maternal grandmother - Lucille Sykes of Dover, Tenn., five nieces and nephews - Logan Whitley, Reagan Whitley, Mackenzi Hale, Dawson Harsy and Aubree Harsy and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 2014 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Joe Wagner officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the Education Trust for Travis' children with the checks made to Renetta Hill and will be accepted at the funeral home.
