OBITUARY: Clifford W. Cowper

Clifford W. Cowper, 64 of 450 W. Harrison St., Carrier Mills, died 2:25 a.m. Saturday Sept. 13, 2014, at the Carrier Mills Nursing Home.

Graveside Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, at Lakeview Cemetery in Carrier Mills. Visitation will be held Thursday from 9 a.m. until 10:30 am at the Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. The Rev. Ownly Williams will officiate.

He was born on Nov. 10, 1949, in Harrisburg, to the late William Maloy and Evangelene (Foreman) Cowper.

He married the former Shirley Jones on Oct. 10, 1969, and she preceded him in death on Feb. 14, 1985.

Clifford was a retired coal miner, he loved to fish, was a excellent gardener and enjoyed reading the bible.

He was a member of the Landmark House of Praise in Carrier Mills.

He is survived by three daughters: Toni Cowper of Alton, Andrea Cowper and Rachel Cowper both of Alexandria, Va.; a son: Josh Cowper; two brothers: William Cowper and Robert Cowper both of Carrier Mills; four sisters: Margaret Covington and Wanda Louise Chapman, both of Alton, and Mary Day and Lisa Kuro, both of Carrier Mills; and a grandchild: Jerrence Cowper of Rantoul.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Shirley Cowper; son: Michael Cowper; and sister: Sonya Cowper.
