Obituary: Mary Rose Hustedde

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mary Rose "Grandma Mary" Hustedde, 88, Dix, died 5:35 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2012, at her home in Dix.

She was born on Tuesday, June 26, 1953, in Taylor Springs to Emilio and Sylvia (Suarez) Valdez. She married Robert Hustedde on July 7, 1945, in Morganfield, Ky., and he preceded her in death on Sept. 21, 1990.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2012, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mount Vernon. Father John Iffert will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. Rosary Service will commence at 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Mount Vernon.

She is survived by three daughters, Roberta Davidson and husband Melvin of Texico, Linda Helbling and husband Jerry of Maui, Hawaii and Phyllis Halfacre and husband Jerry of Texico; three sons, Paul Branch and wife Kathy of Mount Vernon, Gary Hustedde of Dix and Raymond Hustedde and wife Tracy of Mount Vernon; 15 grandchildren, Dr. Stacey Branch, Lt.Col., USAF of Ellsworth AFB, S.D. and Eric Branch, PhD. of Dayton, Ohio, Rhonda Davidson of Texico, Curt Hustedde and wife Melanie of Harrisburg, Carl Hustedde of Carrier Mills, Angie Craig and husband David of Harrisburg, Amy Leigh of Maui, Hawaii, Michael Hustedde and wife Anjel of Ft. Worth, Texas, Christine Hustedde of St. Louis, Mo., Larry Catron of Wayne City, Jessica Summers and husband Dennis of Mount Vernon, Emily Mayo and husband Damon of Opdyke, Melody Zoeckler and husband Scott of Tamaroa, Robert Hustedde and special friend Rachel Henderson of Texico and Kelly Flanigan of Woodlawn; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Her parents; her husband; two sons, Ronnie and Larry Hustedde; a granddaughter, Shelly Davidson Wilson; one brother; and two sisters preceded her in death.

"Grandma Mary" was a cook at Farrington School, a waitress at the L & N Caf&#233;, was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Mount Vernon for over 60 years, was a honorary member of the Ladies' Auxiliary to American Legion Post No. 1193 of Bluford and she loved the St. Louis Cardinals.
