Richard D. Barnes Sr.

Richard D. Barnes Sr., 57, of Du Quoin, passed away at 3:20 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2013 at his residence.

Richard had been a Head Sawer in the lumber business.

He was born July 15, 1956 at Granite City, Ill. the son of William Edward and Elizabeth Maude (Prater) Barnes.

He is survived by children-Rick Barnes and Molly of Murphysboro, Amy Goad and husband Kenny of Miami, Okla., Ashley Miller of Miami, Okla. and Dusty D. Barnes of Royalton, Ill., brother- Nathan Barnes-Atterberry and wife Lisa of Elkville, Ill., sister- Jennifer Petersen and husband Jason of Metropolis, Ill., grandchildren- Brock Barnes, Andrew Barnes, Chloe Barnes, Trenton Barnes, Christopher Goad and MacKenzie Goad, two nephews and four nieces, five great nephews, two great nieces and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother- William Edward Barnes, sister- Delilah Giacomo.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, 2013 at the Hallidayboro Cemetery with Bro. Gary Pruitt officiating.

Family and friends are welcome to attend and may go directly to the cemetery.

Burial will be in the Hallidayboro Cemetery.

A luncheon will be held immediately following the service at the Elkville Christian Church.
