OBITUARY: Mary L. Willis

Mary L. Willis, 83, of Carrier Mills, formerly of Kankakee, died 10:31 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at Carrier Mills Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held noon Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Visitation will be held 11 a.m. Friday until service time. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Carrier Mills. The Rev. Ownly Williams and the Rev. Mike Cole will officiate.

She was born on Nov. 24, 1929, in Carrier Mills to the late Ward and Lillian (Lyles) Cole.

She married Vollie Green and he preceded in death and later married Victor Willis and he also preceded in death.

She was a retired mental health technician.

She was a member of the Harvest Deliverance Center in Harrisburg and a member of the Born Again Apostolic Church in Kankakee.

She is survived by five children: Victor Green of Carrier Mills, Veda (Leroy) Cross Jr. of Marion, Velma Green of Kankakee, Marion (Charles) Constance of Dallas, Texas, and Paula Murry of Kankakee; brother: Clifford Cole of Rockford; two sisters Clesta Williams of Freeport and Claretta Williams of Carrier Mills; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five brothers: Clyde Cole, James Cole, Isaac Cole, David Cole and Cecil Cole; and three sisters Gladys Allen, Nita Grey and Lula Orie.
