Theo A. Day

Theo A. Day, age 93, of Pinckneyville, Ill., passed away on Monday, Sept. 8, 2014 at 8:32 a.m. in Fairview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Du Quoin, Ill.

Theo was born on April 21, 1921 in Du Quoin, Ill., a daughter to Dewey and Estella (Ramsey) Brock. On May 9, 1942, she married Clyde Day in Perryville, Mo. and he preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 1992. Theo was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, Ill. and helped care for the children in the church nursery for 46 years. In her younger years, she worked at Mallorys, Du Quoin, Ill., for seven years. Theo had a passion for many things including watching birds, the outdoors, bingo and she was an avid Cardinal baseball fan. She loved spending time with family and was very proud of her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Toni (Bill) Snyder of Pinckneyville, Ill.; two grandchildren Lisa Porter (Dwayne Seibert) of Dowell, Ill. and Jeff (Mira) Dinkins of Steeleville, Ill.; two great grandchild, Devin Dinkins of Du Quoin, Ill. and Derek Dinkins of Steeleville, Ill.; two step grandchildren, Bridgette Privette and Billy Snyder; two step great-grandchildren, Steve Waltermate and Tasha Partin; a very special niece, Linda Kurlin; very special friends, Jerry and Darlene Crider and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Cleo Stahulak; brother, Robert Brock and nephew, Robert "Tater" Brock.

Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Jay Lowder and Reverend Charles Boling officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Du Quoin, Ill.

Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, Ill. on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Fairview Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, First Baptist Church or Perry County Humane Society.
