OBITUARY: Leatta Mae “Mimi” Price

Leatta Mae "Mimi" Price, 85 of Harrisburg, passed away at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Lea was born on Oct. 9, 1928, in Pope County to the late Lawsen and Myrtle (Morse) Mitchell. On Oct. 4, 1947, she married Edgar Price and he survives. Lea was a 1947 graduate of Harrisburg Township High School. She was a long time member of the Harrisburg Home Extension; she was a member of the Saline County Genealogy Club. She enjoyed gardening, crafting and most of all taking care of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving family members include her husband: Edgar Price of Harrisburg; son: Greg (Donna) Price of Harrisburg; daughter: Sherry (Roy) Russell of Harrisburg; sister: Dot Davis of Tilton; seven grandchildren: Leslie (Dawan) Rightnowar of Harrisburg, Kim (Kendall) Hankins of Galatia, Jamie Price and fiancé Jimmy Humphrey of Herrin, Brian (Jennifer) Price of Harrisburg; Brad (Cassidy) Russell of Harrisburg, Teresa (Ryan) Hughes of Harrisburg and Danielle Price and fiancé Michael Oestreich of Harrisburg; 14 great-grandchildren: Dalton Rightnowar, Adam Brothers, Cody Rightnowar, Lexi Howard, A.J. Hankins, MacKenzi Rightnowar, Eli Hankins, Kylie Price, Adriana Humphrey, Ava Hughes, Makaya Price, Brendan Russell, Jensen Hughes and Mason Russell; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Edward Mitchell; and a sister: Bernice Barnes.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Derek Downs will officiate and Kendall Hankins will assist. Burial will follow in Sunset Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of donor's choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
