Carla Griffiths Weikart

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Carla Griffiths Weikart, 53, of Harrisburg passed away at 6:26 a.m. Monday, Dec. 7, 2009, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Ky.

Carla was born on Oct. 10, 1956, to Carl D. Griffiths and Imogene (Cox) Griffiths in Harrisburg. Carla attended the Harrisburg schools and graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1978 with bachelor of science degrees in communication and fine arts in the department of speech/journalism, public relations specialization. She most recently worked in advertising/sales at the Money Stretcher in Galatia. Carla was saved at an early age and attended Dorrisville Baptist Church.

Carla is survived by her parents, Carl and Imogene Griffiths of Harrisburg; sister, Karen Sue Lampley and husband Danny of Harrisburg; nephew, Matt Griffiths of Louisville, Ky.; niece, Michelle Griffiths of Shawneetown; nephew, Damon Lampley and wife Toni and their sons, Darren and Brandon Lampley of Des Moines, Iowa; nephew, Doug Lampley of Energy; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her brother, David Griffiths.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Dewayne Taylor will officiate and burial will follow in Sunset Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at Reed Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Dorrisville Baptist Church Building Fund and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
