Gold Hill Township Cemetery accepting donations

GALLATIN COUNTY - The Gold Hill Township Cemetery Maintenance Board is once again reaching out to the public to let you know we will gladly accept donations anytime throughout the year to assist in the maintenance of our local cemeteries within Gold Hill Township.

The new year will be here soon and so will the new mowing season, so we ask you to please include us in your budget to help with the maintenance expenses.

Although a real estate tax of less than .050 percent is collected from those living in the Gold Hill Township, the annual amount collected does not cover the expenses required to maintain these precious historical resting places of your ancestors.

The list of cemeteries maintained within Gold Hill Township include, Bradley on New Market Road, Bradley on Portal Road, Byrd, Kanady and McGhee (McGehee).

A special "thank you" goes out to the Howards for maintaining the Fields Cemetery on Howard's hill and to our anonymous helper at the Bradley Cemetery on New Market Road.

If you are out for a drive, let us know how the cemeteries are looking. Your donations may be mailed directly to Gold Hill Cemetery Fund at P.O. Box 618 Shawneetown, IL 62984.
