BASKETBALL: #204 beats TSB for Indian Invite crown
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Three Tigers finished in double figures and Pinckneyville District #204 cruised to a 64-38 victory over Tamaroa-St. Bruno in the championship of TSB's week-long Indian Invitational on Saturday at St. Bruno.
Caleb Dahn led the way with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the Tigers (17-1), Jacob Jackson added 15 points, as did Brian Taylor. Sam Simpson and Layton McNew each chipped in with 7 points, Chris Mitchell had 4.
Jordan Grissom led the tournament host Indians (10-7) with 11 points, Nolan Luke added 8, Robbie Borchelt and Cole Bigham 5, Adam Banach 4, Brock Bullar 3 and Tyler Iubelt 2.
Both teams came into play with 3-0 marks in the Indian Invite. #204 had defeated Oakdale, TSJOL and Desoto while TSB posted wins over Unity, St. Ann and the #204 junior varsity team.
The two teams don't have long to think about Saturday's game - they face off agaisnt each other again on Monday, weather permitting, at #204 (6:00 p.m. - JV).
The Tigers are at home again Tuesday in their last game before the holiday break against Elverado. The #204 and TSB teams' JV squads will compete Dec. 20-22 in #204's invitational.
In other results Saturday from the Indian Invitational, Desoto claimed third place with a 65-53 win over Unity, St. Ann topped TSJOL 38-19 for fifth place, and Oakdale took home seventh by topping #204's JV 35-19.
